Family Camp is an annual gathering of our district churches for worship, teaching, prayer, and fellowship.
Whether you're a first-time guest or a returning family, there is something meaningful here for everyone.
Here's what a typical day looks like:
Morning: Round table-style gatherings open to all attendees
Daytime: Teaching services featuring guest ministries
Evening: Worship and preaching services followed by extended times of prayer at the altars
After service: Fellowship opportunities in the dining hall and around the Snack Shop
Family Camp is held at the Illinois District Campground, located at: 1433 US-51, Wapella, IL 61777 / Phone: 309-473-9405
Registration is only required for those staying overnight on the campgrounds. You do not need to register to attend services, activities, or meals. If you are staying on-site, please visit the registration link for lodging options, pricing, and availability.
A variety of on-site lodging is available on a first-come, first-served basis:
Men's and women's dorms (separate) — shared, open-style accommodations
Private rooms with shared bathrooms — separate men's and women's bathrooms available
Private rooms with private bathrooms — limited availability
Please visit the registration form for current options, pricing, and availability, and check in at the camp office upon arrival.
Important: You must bring your own pillows, bedding or sleeping bag, towels, and toiletries.
If you prefer to stay off-site, a hotel room block is reserved each year in Bloomington, IL.
Yes! Electric sites with 30A/50A hookups are available for RVs and trailers. A sewage dump station is located on the grounds (not at individual sites). RVs may arrive before the start of camp pending office approval. Please visit the registration form for pricing and availability, and check in at the camp office upon arrival.
On-site guests may arrive anytime on Wednesday, July 8. All on-site guests must be off the grounds by 9:00 AM on Saturday, July 12. RVs may arrive earlier in the week with prior office approval.
Casual dress is appropriate for daytime services and activities. Business casual or dress attire is more appropriate for evening services. Modesty is expected at all times.
Dedicated children's church services are held daily at 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM in a separate chapel, concurrent with the main services. Mandatory check-in is required for all children.
A few other things to know:
There is no childcare provided during Family Camp. Parents are responsible for their children at all times.
All minors must have a parent or legal guardian present on the grounds and are their responsibility at all times.
A toddler playground is available next to the cafeteria.
A mothers' room for nursing is located in the women's restroom at the back of the main sanctuary.
Meals are served daily, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner following the evening service. Meal tickets can be purchased at the camp office with cash or credit card.
Food allergy-friendly options are often available, and a generous salad bar is offered every evening.
The Snack Shop is open in the afternoons and serves nachos, shakes, and more. A full menu — including hamburgers and hot dogs — is available following the evening services.
There are plenty of options to stay active and have fun between services: Basketball and Volleyball Courts, Pickleball, Indoor Gymnasium, & Disc Golf Course.
These activities are self-organized among attendees and will not be available during main service times. Everyone is encouraged to join in!
Yes, public Wi-Fi is available throughout the Illinois District Campground.
Personal and rental golf carts are welcome. Please review the IL District Golf Cart Policy and bring your completed registration form with the required documentation and signatures to the camp office upon arrival for authorization.
Paved parking near the campground is limited. General parking is available in the south (grass) field next to the sanctuary.
The nurses' station is located just west of the sanctuary. For all emergencies, call 911.
Yes. Security personnel are on-site throughout camp, and the local county sheriff's department will make regular visits each day/evening as well.
A nightly curfew goes into effect for all persons not lodging on the grounds — generally around 11:00 PM. At that time, all youth and children should be with their families in their place of lodging. Camp security will enforce the curfew.
Family Camp is made possible by the many incredible volunteers who serve each year! If you or your family would like to serve, please complete the Workers Registration form. Once submitted, the district will notify your pastor for authorization. Lodging may be provided, pending availability.
